This policy explains how M/S ALCOM COMPUTERS, Darul Aman Market, Jamalpur, Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh 202001, India ("we") collects and uses personal data through this website and through Alcom Web Studio. We follow the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
1. What we collect
- When you buy: name, email, mobile number, country, and optionally company name and GSTIN. Payment details (card, UPI, bank) are collected by Razorpay or PayPal, not by us; we receive only a payment reference and status.
- Your account: email, an encrypted (hashed) password, your licences, orders, invoices and support tickets.
- From the software: licence key, a one-way computer identifier, computer name, Windows user name, Windows version and architecture, software version, IP address and the time of each licence check.
- Support: the messages and files you send us.
- Technical: IP address and a session cookie needed to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
2. Why we use it
To process your order and issue your licence key and invoice; to activate the software and prevent unlicensed use; to provide support; to send you service emails (order, licence, ticket and password emails); to keep tax and accounting records; and to protect the website from abuse. We do not sell your data and do not send marketing emails without your consent.
3. Who we share it with
Only with the services needed to run the business: Razorpay and PayPal (payments), our email provider (sending emails), our web hosting provider (storing the website), and authorities when the law requires it.
4. How long we keep it
Order and invoice records are kept for at least 8 years as required by tax law. Licence and activation records are kept while the licence is in use and for up to 2 years after. Support tickets are kept for up to 3 years. You can ask us to delete your account; we will remove what the law does not require us to keep.
5. Security
Passwords are stored hashed, the website uses HTTPS, and data files are not publicly accessible. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.
6. Your rights
You can see your data in your account, correct it, ask for a copy, or ask us to delete it, by emailing alcom@alcomhost.in. If you are not satisfied with our answer you may contact the Data Protection Board of India.
